Created on 1955, is one of the twelve national parks existing in Spain and the only one in Catalonia. Well signalled and better kept, is especially equipped with plenty of high-mountain refuges to make itineraries more accessible.
The Romanesque art of the region (Pallars Sobirà) has recently been restored and diffused. There are many civil constructions and small churches around that, integrated in the high-mountains landscape, allow recalling the medieval past of these valleys.
